Congratulations to all 18 semi-finalists in the 2019 competition. The jury were very impressed with the high level of playing. The following pianists will perform in the finals with Manchester Camerata and conductor Stephen Threlfall.

Following 55 first round entries for the sixth competition in Manchester, our international jury of concert pianists has selected eighteen pianists for the semi-final stage of the competition, to be held in Stoller Hall, Manchester on 23 and 24 August 2019.  Entries came from Australia, Eastern Europe, South America, China, Canada and the USA as well as from Europe.  Talented pianists all under the age of 23 submitted live, complete recordings of concertos of their own choice for consideration by jury... more

We are pleased to announce for the 2019 competition it is possible to enter the 1st round with a recorded performance of ANY piano concerto. The performance must be live and unedited either with 2nd piano or orchestra. If selected for the final stages of the competition a concerto must be selected from the set repertoire list shown on the website.
